SeMA, Buk-Seoul Museum of Art presents <Electric Shock>, an exhibition that addresses questions surrounding ‘electricity’ and energy power as emerging social issues. This exhibition explores contemporary alternatives and directions for practice concerning technology and the environment through the medium of media art.

Reflecting the exhibition’s focus on presenting new perspectives on ‘electricity,’ Everyday Practice connects the formless ‘electricity’ with pareidolia, expressing it through everyday materials. We developed non-existent exhibition sockets as 3D assets to visualize diverse expressions conveying ‘shocking emotions’. Additionally, we aim to highlight the exhibition’s characteristics on-site through a mobile docent implanted with a GPT model trained on the exhibition content.

Unlike traditional exhibition docents that provide information unidirectionally, the mobile docent for <Electric Shock> operates through a two-way communication method where visitors learn by conversing with the trained GPT. The act of directly speaking to the AI model and receiving responses highlights the exhibition’s theme and naturally integrates the participant into the exhibition itself. Through this approach, Everyday Practice sought to create a more multi-layered and novel exhibition experience.
